Hey You Guys!! - Progress Update
over 6 years ago – Thu, Jan 04, 2018 at 11:16:33 PM

Hey Kids!

Ivan here from Hunters Books, thought I would take the time to give you an update on how things are going with Kids On Bikes!

Core Book

This is pretty much ready to go! We are just adding the new art in, and have just one note we are addressing in the main book, we'll then be uploading it to DTRPG to provide the PDF to our backers once the survey's go live!

Module Progress

We have ALL BUT ONE of our modules written by our immensely talented and wonderful writers, and that should be in next week. We're actually in the process of putting them all into layout and adding the graphics as they come in. We had to hire 4 different artists to generate enough art to make the deadline, and so far – it seems to be working!

Accessories

Currently, the art for the PeeChee folders is being designed, as well as the powered player cards. We're hoping to order the dice/cards from the printers by the end of next week (the plan is to get the order printed and shipped before Chinese New Year which begins late February).

All in all, we haven't hit any road blocks that will prevent us from shipping the book in late March. But as always – we'll keep you updated as things progress!

Surveys

The plan is to SEND OUT THE SURVEYS ONCE THE PDF IS AVAILABLE. Which, as listed above, should be fairly soon. The BackerKit Campaign is completed, so you can do a pre-order now (if you have friends who didn't back the campaign). But we want to give you something fun for filling out your Survey's once they're done!

Thank you again!

Since the campaign has ended, we've already received another 120 pre-orders from folks who are just hearing about it from you! Keep spreading the good word everyone!

Happy Holidays Gang!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Dec 27, 2017 at 12:11:58 AM

Season's Greetings to All!

Hey everyone, we just wanted to drop in quick with a little something for the holiday season!  Without further ado, here is a quick message and present from none other than Doug Levandowski:

---

Hi wonderful backers!

Doug here, one of the co-creators of Kids on Bikes! In the spirit of the season, I thought I'd put together a setting for our backers to thank them for all of your support!

Since you don't have the full rules to play with yet, this module works with the Ashcan version of the rules, which you can get through this link. The module takes place in Perkins, Colorado - the same place as in the Ashcan version. This module expands the town a bit and brings you there during the cold, cold months of December. Times are good there. There's sledding, you can have snowball fights in gym class, and the mall is hopping. But children have started disappearing again like they did five years ago, and strange things are happening at the Climatology Research of Perkins, the local government facility.

I hope you enjoy the module, which you can get through this link. Happy holidays and a happy new year!

We Did It Gang! Pledge Manager Coming Soon!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Nov 29, 2017 at 06:48:30 PM

 Way to Go!

Get ready to gather around your table for strange adventures because we did it - that's right, gang, thanks to the 3,000+ of you we managed to raise just shy of $93.5k to bring Kids on Bikes to life!  You crushed every single Stretch Goal we were able to arrange over the course of the campaign, and as a result we've been able to do some pretty cool stuff.  Why don't we do a quick review of everything we managed to unlock over the campaign:

  • 14 Modules by an array of AMAZINGLY talented individuals
  • More art and even MORE art for the books to bring life to the text
  • Upgraded the DELUXE Edition of the book with variant cover art and a comic by Jim Zub
  • Premium ADD-ONS including a Power Player Deck, KoB Retro Backpack, and KoB PeeChee Folders

Thanks to everyone for all the support, feedback, and awesome ideas that we'll be sure to explore further now that the campaign has come to a close!  Really, we honestly can't begin to thank you enough!

Pledge Manager Incoming

We know everyone is excited to be able to get managing their Pledges, grab last minute Add-ons, make needed adjustments, or even folks just looking to get in a little late for the Kickstarter Campaign.  With that in mind we wanted to let you know that we are working on getting our Pledge Manager setup, and expect to get that out later this week.  We've got you!

And of course we'll be keeping in touch regarding our progress as we move forwards in the development and printing process.  Thanks again, gang, you're the best!

Last Stretch Goal in site - 48 hours left!
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 28, 2017 at 10:18:30 AM

Hey Kids!

We're almost there, only 48 hours left! Let's highlight some of the great goals you've hit!

- 14 new modules written by some AMAZINGLY talented individuals!

- Variant Cover for the DELUXE edition!

- 2 Add-ons! (Power Player Deck, and KoB backpack)

- 20 Additional Cards for the Power Player Deck!

- Short Comic by Jim Zub to be included in the Deluxe Edition!

LESS THAN 4K FOR THAT PEECHEE (character folders)

Is there anymore coming?

Sadly no, the fact that you BLEW our expectations and with the holidays upon us - we can't promise anymore stretch goals for this campaign. We WILL however, explore some of the options you discussed (dice, miniatures), in future releases - or maybe even the pledge manager.

Live Plays!

Everyone seems to be excited to play some Kids On Bikes!
-Fungain Games featured a live-play with us on their facebook page! Check it out.

-Our friends as Boards Alive also did a great playthrough with none other than our own Doug and Jon, things got weird in the second episode...

We've already started the process on a lot of these production elements to keep our deadline. But we'll post a bigger update on that soon enough!
